We sound like an ordinary family, a dad, mom and 3 kids (2 boys and girl), but if you had a glimpse inside our walls you would know that we are anything but ordinary. And here is how our little family came about:
Dan and I met in college, both of us played college basketball and found that we both had very similar expectations in life. We fell in love and got married on 7/7/07 (perfect anniversary for a man to remember)! Fast forward to 2009, I found out that I was pregnant with our oldest, we both were super pumped and scared at the same time especially since it was not planned. Kids were always a topic of conversation for us, we both felt like God gave us a heart to have a big family. Caleb's pregnancy was not an easy one, there were many complications (See the post titled: Caleb). So when I got pregnant again when Caleb was only 11 months old we were excited because we were unsure if I was ever going to be able to have anymore kids. Unfortunately I miscarried at 10 weeks and was very bummed, but at the same time hopeful that I really could get pregnant again. Fast forward another 2 years, we had been trying and trying to get pregnant and were unsuccessful. Around that time I mentioned to Dan that maybe we should pursue adoption, he was a little leery of the idea but agreed to take foster/ adoption classes. Long story short we had an opportunity to adopt the most perfect little angel for our family: Peyton. ( See post titled: Peyton) So all that being said here we are now, Caleb is 6, Peyton is 3 and Braylen is 1 and we are loving every second of our lives. Dan is teaching math and coaching and I get to stay home, take care of our kiddos and also coach. We pray daily for God to add to our family in the way of adoption and would love to adopt 2 or 3 more kids, Lord willing. Walk with us through this journey as we "add to our walls".
